Hi,
I recently bought the KLN-90B and finally got around to installing it into MSFS 2004. My test aricraft was the Baron 58 and I have configured the window to be a permanent popup. The unit powers up and I can navigate through the pages, however it doesn't appear to be connected to the GPS/NAV switch as I cannot get the GPS to output to the HSI.
Is there something that I missed when I installed this?
Thanks,
Phil

Hi Phil,
I re-read your post and I don't think I understood what you were asking.
But, I think I do now. If I'm not mistaken, the real KLN90B does not have that capability.
It relies on the aircraft autopilot system or an independent GPS/NAV switch.
I know the Baron has a GPS/NAV switch.

Hi,
Yes the Baron does have a GPS/NAV switch however when I select GPS (using the switch) I get a NAV flag on the HSI indicating that it is not getting the feed from the GPS (KLN-90).
I went through the installation instructions and made sure that I had followed them correctly. Is there something that I missed during the install?
Thanks,
Phil

"I see what you mean. I will fix it and get back to you soon."
I have to retract this.
I put the KLN90B into the Baron 58 as a permanent gauge.
I entered a DTO with the KLN90B, clicked on the NAV/GPS switch, and the HSI displayed as it should.
The red NAV flag disapeared, and the CDI worked as it should.
I turned on the AP, clicked on the NAV button, and the ac tracked as it should.
What exactly is it that is not working as you expect?
Please be exact.
Cheers,

If the red NAV flag is coming down on your HSi, it means the gauge and AP, is slaved to the GPS. So, it appears top be working just fine... ! There is no CDi key as in the GNS530 etc. with the 90B.
